Last Saturday Glenrath Farm Eggs sponsored Peebles made the journey into East Lothian to play Haddington in RBS Championship Division B at Neilson Park. A stirring performance by Peter Wright’s men saw them triumph by 44 – 12 gaining a vital bonus point victory which, with both Howe of Fife and Musselburgh losing, – albeit gaining a bonus point apiece - sees Peebles top the table on points difference from Howe – a position they will hold only by continuing to play to the best of their ability, with some tough fixtures to come in the RBS Championship Division B, the first of which is Murrayfield Wanderers away on 1st December.
The seconds - sponsored by FIRST XV and rugbystuff – were also on the road – to play Selkirk Stormers down at Philiphaugh in RBS Reserve League East 1. They returned winners by 20 – 18 in a tight game recovering from 18 – 17 down in the dying minutes.
The Colts – supported by BARC Coach Hire - were the only side at home when they played Jed Thistle in the Border Semi-Junior League and won a tight but entertaining game by 29 – 22 scoring late on to take the win.
So it was a ‘full house’ Saturday for the club with all three sides victorious – with Peebles’ league position at the top being the icing on the cake.
