One Club Awards

Last Saturday night Peebles RFC held their 1st OneClub Awards. A fantastic night was enjoyed by all who attended.

Congratulations to all those who won and well done to all who had a part in organising the event.

Senior Rugby

Peebles RFC 1sts – Last Saturday Peebles RFC – sponsored by Stobo Health Spa – played their final Tennent’s National league 2 match of the season when Falkirk were the visitors to the Gytes – the Pees finished the fifteens season with a flourish by putting the visitors to the sword by 55 – 12, although at half time such a score was looking unlikely as errors cost the home side a number of scoring chances – however after the half time pep talk the boys came good , passes stuck and chances were put away.

Sevens - Last Saturday Peebles were also due to send a Sevens squad down to Hawick but had to withdraw due to a lack of players with the League game taking place.

Tomorrow a Sevens squad travel the road down to Milntown for the Langholm sevens. Peebles are drawn with Melrose in the third tie of the first round. First tie kicks off at 1:00pm.

On Sunday a squad travelled east to Scremerston for the Berwick sevens – losing in the pool stage to Melrose and Boroughmuir.

Under 16s – Tonight the under 16s sevens squad heads down to Poynder Park for the Kelso Under 16 tournament. For under 16s fans the first tie kicks off at 6:00pm – Peebles play Kelso at 6:34pm.

On Sunday the under 16 squad is joined by the under 14 squad for the trip to the Melrose Youth Rugby Sevens at the Grennyards and Battery Dyke. First ties at 12:00 noon for travelling fans.

S1 and S2 – Tomorrow the S1 and S2 sides head west for the Dalziel Youth Rugby Festival kick off is at 10:00am for travelling fans.

S1 Sevens – Last Saturday an S1 sevens squad travelled down to Mansfield Haugh for the Hawick S1 Sevens – Peebles are drawn in a pool with Hawick, Gala and Kelso, the Peebles boys . The Peebles boys did really well winning the Chrysties’ Cup by defeating Gala in the final.

Piranhas News - Tournaments at Gala this weekend, with Haddington also the venue for a team or two, so, watch out for coaches emails on where you need to be. Training at The Gytes for the rest of the year groups and its training there from now on as Hay Lodge has a well-earned rest. We hear One Club night at The Hydro was a canny do. There is some video of the kids on the Piranhas emails and finally, take a look at the new kit offer on the email, social media and even a live appearance at training soon.
