Seven's Meeting - Members are asked to note that a Sevens meeting will be held in the clubrooms on Sunday 7th April at 19:00. This will be an “open to all meeting” and it’s hoped that we can get a good turn out from all sectors of the Club.
Peebles RFC 1sts – Peebles RFC – sponsored by Stobo Health Spa – are back at home on Saturday 6th April when Highland – seeking to secure the second promotion spot in Tennent’s National League 2 are the visitors to the Gytes. Peebles will be hoping that they can avenge their defeat in the Highland capital earlier in the season. Kick off is at 3:00pm.

As usual the lady volunteers will be at the dressing room end of the ground with their home-made soup, and, hot and cold drinks, accompanied by their home baking – much appreciated by the home and away support alike.
Tomorrow’s mascot – The Mascot this Saturday is Lochain MacNae.
He is a P4 Piranha and goes to Kingsland. He is really enthusiastic about rugby and has a great knowledge and understanding of the game. He is a determined player, great offloading skills and always supports his team mates. An excellent Piranha!
Last week Peebles RFC hosted Biggar in a local derby fixture in Tennent’s National League 2 with the visitors looking to avenge the defeat inflicted at Hartree Mill earlier in the season and this they did by the tune of 25 – 7 – aided by two interception tries. They were overall the better side on the day and deserved their win and were delighted to receive a thoroughly deserved Championship trophy at full–time having only lost once thus far this season.
Peebles Reds – On Saturday 6th April Peebles Reds – sponsored by the Crown Hotel Peebles – play host to Edinburgh Northern at Hay Lodge Park in a Tennent’s Reserve League East 2 fixture, hoping to maintain their good form with another win, preserve their unbeaten run, and stay top of the table. Kick off is at 3:00pm for Reds fans who should note that the tea and coffee stall will be in operation down by the pavilion with hot and cold drinks and delicious home baking.
Last week Peebles Reds travelled into Edinburgh to play Edinburgh Accies Blues in a top of the table fixture at Raeburn Place – returning home with an emphatic 27 – 8 win under their belts with a try bonus to boot. Reds remain unbeaten at the top of Tennent’s Reserve League East 2.
Colts – Tomorrow the Colts Sevens squad travels down to Poynder park for the Kelso ‘Quins sevens first tie kicks off at 2:00pm.
Last Saturday Peebles Colts travelled down to the Volunteer Park in Hawick where they played Kelso ‘Quins in the Borders Semi-Junior League Plate final unfortunately losing heavily by 40 – 17.
Under 16 Sevens – Tonight an under 16 sevens squad will be taking part in the Duns under 16 sevens – first tie kicks off at 6:00pm and Peebles are on in the fourth tie at 6:51 against Selkirk.
Last Friday evening at the Jed under 16 sevens Peebles lost to Jed in round 1 and then to Kelso in the semi-final of the bowl.
Piranhas News - April 7th is either a trip to Langholm , a round robin in Selkirk, or a week off training.. Langholm have merged some year groups for their tournament, leaving some year groups the opportunity to take part in a short notice set of games a wee bit closer to home. Check with the year group coaches for the correct location. The following week, April 14th, is a special training event as part of the Peebles RFC One Club awards. Training at Hay Lodge from 10, with team awards after. Hope to see you there.
Events – Quiz Night – on Friday 3rd May the Eastgate Clubrooms will be the venue for a quiz night to help raise funds for the Peebles High School under 13 and under 15 netball squads who have qualified for the World School Netball Cup. The evening starts at 7:00pm and the mental gymnastics at 7:30 pm. Teams of four are invited to take part – cost £12 per team. Teams should be registered with Morven or Andrea by email on firstname.lastname@example.org or by text to 07960637054.
