Peebles Reds – Last Saturday Peebles Reds – sponsored by The Crown Hotel Peebles – hosted Ross High in Tennent’s Reserve League East 2 at Hay Lodge Park – the Reds were in rampant form and full of running as they put the visitors to the sword by 92 – 0 but credit is due however to the Ross High players who never gave up despite losing a few to injury and being down 13 at one point.

Last Saturday the Colts travelled to Myreside to play a George Watson’s XV – unfortunately losing by 22 – 12.
Under 16 - Last Saturday twenty – nine boys took part in an enjoyable, competitive and skilful game of rugby at Myreside last Saturday.
Unfortunately only 11 players were from Peebles with 2 Gala boys Matt Reid and Jamie Gordon supplementing the visitor’s team – still only numbering 13.
Matt scored all Peebles’ 19 points from 3 tries and 2 conversions, while Jamie showed he is a more than useful forward in both tight and loose situations.
The Watsons coach was keen to keep the game enjoyable and managed his 16 man squad to ensure it was competitive throughout -- Watson’s scoring 31 points.
Referee Tony Leighton also played his part in ensuring the game was played in great spirit and entertaining to watch.
Of the Peebles players Oliver Landers led from the front, Jonas Third had his best game for some time always looking dangerous and combining well with his fellow centre from Gala.
A new half back pairing of Jamie Magowan (9) and Tom Ryalls at (10) showed promise in unaccustomed positions and Finlay Sinclair was his usual combative self in both attack and defence.
The Peebles team will now turn their focus to the coming Borders 7’s programme.
