Peebles RFC 1sts – On Saturday 2nd March Peebles RFC – sponsored by Stobo Health Spa – are on the road again as they travel over to Fife to Cupar play Howe of Fife in a Tennent’s National League 2 fixture – kick off for travelling fans is at 3:00pm. There may be some room on the coach which leaves at 11:30am.
Last Saturday Peebles RFC – sponsored by Stobo Health Spa – made the short journey down to the Greenyards for a rearranged Booker Border League match against Melrose – unfortunately going down by 41–5.
Peebles Reds – On Saturday 2nd March Peebles Reds – sponsored by The Crown Hotel Peebles - have a home fixture against Ross High in Tennent’s Reserve League East 2 at Hay Lodge Park – kick off for Reds fans is at 3:00pm.
Last Friday’s evening fixture against Penicuik was called off when the visitors could not raise a side.
OAPees – On good afternoon for running rugby the OAPees and Biggar Vets served up a feast for the fans at Hay Lodge Park. In a match where the lead see-sawed and play swung from end to end the visitors scored a late try to snatch the win by 17 - 12. A fine afternoon was had by all and there was plenty of banter swapped.
Colts – On Saturday 2nd November the Colts and Under 16 squads have fixtures against George Watson's College at Myreside - kick off for travelling support is at 10:30am.
Last Friday evening the Colts travelled to play Hawick Youth in a rearranged Borders Semi-Junior league fixture – Hawick winning by 41 – 17 and claiming the league title with the win.
Piranhas News - Tournaments are starting 10 March so its a great chance to get a couple more training sessions in the balmy February sunshine. Training from 10 at Hay Lodge. More like a sweatlodge for those up at the High School perhaps. Remember your £s and dress accordingly.
P6 tour fundraisers are on the go. And if you fancy a crack at the gee gees without any impact on the equine flu situation, then make sure you book some tickets for Race Night at the Clubhouse. Friday 15th March. Email firstname.lastname@example.org tickets. Its going to be a good one. And Number 7 always wins the last race!
Six Nations – The six nations continues next Saturday afternoon and as usual all matches will be shown in the Eastgate Clubrooms on the big screen:
- 9th March – Scotland v Wales 2:15pm England v Italy 4:45pm - food will be available during the afternoon.
- 10th March – Ireland v France 3:00pm
- 16th March – Italy v France 12:30pm Wales v Ireland 2:45pm England v Scotland 5:00pm
Race Night – the Piranhas fundraising race night takes place in the Eastgate Clubrooms on Friday 15th March 7 for 7:30pm. Email email@example.com for tickets.
For the diary - Race Night – Friday March 29th the Eastgate Clubrooms is the venue for a fundraising race night by Richard Edge who is running the London Marathon for SiMBA. Tickets are £5 and can be had from Richard or Stuart Macdonald who can be contacted via facebook.
Quiz Night – on Friday 3rd May the Eastgate Clubrooms will be the venue for a quiz night to help raise funds for the Peebles High School under 13 and under 15 netball squads who have qualified for the World School Netball Cup. The evening starts at 7:00pm and the mental gymnastics at 7:30 pm. Teams of four are invited to take part – cost £12 per team. Teams should be registered with Morven or Andrea by email on firstname.lastname@example.org or by text to 07960637054.
