BT National League – Tomorrow Peebles RFC– sponsored by Stobo Health Spa – are back at home when Howe of Fife are the visitors to the Gytes for a BT National League 2 match – kick off at 3:00pm- weather permitting. Coaches Drew and Lewis will be hoping that the squad can reverse the result from earlier in the season when they lost narrowly at Duffus Park. This match is sponsored by Glenrath Farms.

Last Saturday Peebles were due to travel west to Hamilton for a BT National League 2 match but the match was called off due to an unplayable pitch just as the squad were getting on the coach.

Seconds – The seconds are back at home tomorrow when Dunfermline are the visitors to Hay Lodge Park for a BT Reserve League East 2 fixture. Weather permitting kick off is at 2:00pm.

Last Week the seconds travelled into Edinburgh to play Corstorphine Cougars returning with a resounding win by 111 – 0.

Colts/Under 16’s
– Tomorrow the Colts and under 16’s have home fixtures against Dunbar. The Colts will play at Hay Lodge and the U16’s will play at the High School, both kicking off at 10.30am – weather premitting.

Last Saturday the Colts had a fixture with Biggar Colts – unfortunately the visitors proved to be too strong for the Colts and won by 48 – 14.

The cup fixture at Aberdeen had to unfortunately be conceded due to the proximity to the prelim exams preventing S4 players being available.

Events – The annual club Burns Supper will take place in the Eastgate Clubrooms

Beat The Winter Blues – On Friday 2nd February the Eastgate Clubrooms is the venue for a Peebles Piranhas Social where you can beat the winter blues at a comedy and gin tasting evening – starting at 7pm. Tickets which are £22.50, and include a professionally led gin tasting of 6 gins led by the Lilliards Gin team, followed by comedy from Over the Lyne featuring Michael Redmond – a veteran of the Fringe and who played Father Stione in Father Ted, and Kirsty Morrison – a Scottish Comedian of the year finalist, can be had via the website All are welcome.

Music – The Eastgate Clubrooms is the venue on Friday 9th February for an evening of live music from 8:30pm with Pygmy Twylyte playing the music of the late great Frank Zappa – supported by local band The Derivatives. Tickets can be bought in advance from the bar or the Three Fishes Gallery £7 or £10 on the door on the night.

Quiz and Auction Night – On Friday 16th February the Eastgate Clubrooms is the venue for a quiz and auction night for Peebles Netball – 7:00pm for a 7:30pm start. Teams of 4 are invited to enter - £10 per team. Entries must be pre-booked via Peebles Swimming Pool, Peebles RFC clubrooms or by email to
