Peebles High School entertained Gala Academy on Saturday morning at S1, S2 and Under 15 level, recording wins in every game.

Both sides had enough players to field two teams at S1 level, and the home side ran out winners in both matches.

The S2 side enjoyed a comfortable win over their Gala counterparts despite two of their stronger players Stuart Turner and Roddy Guiney having stepped up to help out the Under 15 squad. The only downside of the fixture was a bad shoulder injury sustained by flanker Darren Howie, close to the end of the match.

The Under 15 match could have went either way but eventually saw the home side prevail, in a fixture which also doubvled as a first round match in the Borders Schools Under 15 Cup. PHS now go on to play Earlston High School in the next round.

This Saturday sees Selkirk High School visit, with kick offs scheduled for 9.30am.
