GYTES GOSSIP (PN 24 December 2009)

Last week was a white out for Peebles Rugby as all games were lost to the winter wonderland. I think quite a few were glad of it when the snow fell at 2.30 on Saturday afternoon. Still two league games went ahead in the Borders and another 2 in the rest of Scotland.

This weekend there is no game for the 1sts; Bev is looking for a game for the 2nds on Monday 28th, and the colts are due to play Berwick in the semi junior league at the Gytes with a 2 PM kick off. Venue may have to be changed if the 2nds get a game on Monday evening. Latest information will be provided to Radio Borders and the PRFC web site at www.peeblesrfc.org as it becomes available.

The following weekend, Gala have already called off the Radio Borders Border League fixture scheduled for 2nd January and Bev is working on a replacement friendly game and mentioned possibilities of away fixtures at Stewarts Melville or Currie in advance of League fixtures with Jed, Kelso and Stirling County at the Gytes in January.

There is a Christmas Eve party/disco in the Eastgate Clubrooms for members and guests over the age of 18. Similarly there will also be one on Boxing Day. The club challenge 21 policy will be in force and appropriate photo ID will be required to gain access.

Please drink sensibly

Merry Christmas
