GYTES GOSSIP (PN 15 August 2009)

Whilst a bit ring rusty, once they got going Peebles ran in 6 tries to Trinity Accies’ 1 at The Gytes last Saturday even with an under strength team. It was a good start as new coach Thorfinn MacIver and Rob Hogarth took care of selection and substitutions in the afternoon in Bruce’s absence.

The 22nd is shaping up with a wealth of events planned leading up to the game with Stewart’s Melville at 2.30 PM.

BBQ, Car Boot Sale, PRFC Merchandise Stall, Membership Desk, Party Tent, Bouncy Castle, Football - beat the Goalie, Licensed Beer Tent, Piranhas, Midis and 1st XV v Stewarts Melville. There may be more in the pipeline.

The evening game with Preston Lodge has been changed to Wednesday 19th August at The Gytes KO 3.00 PM but before that is Kelso Sevens tomorrow.

The colts had a hard working teambuilding time at Featherstone castle to prepare them for the season and they have a busy couple of weekends to come with sevens at Langholm and Melrose and games against Portobello and Currie.

The function hall floor is now a shining example following sanding and sealing, and with a new lick of paint the hall will soon look brand new in time for event on the 21st.

Which reminds me if you have not responded to David Swan’s letter, could you do so as soon as possible.
