GYTES GOSSIP (PN 6 March 2009)

Unable to get even a friendly fixture at the weekend, both the 1sts and 2nds had another blank weekend, and with the Colts playing in Edinburgh, there was no rugby other than youths played in Peebles at the weekend. Tomorrow the destination is Rubislaw, Aberdeen, as the Firsts head north on their longest away trip of the Scottish Hydro Electric League season. It was a close thing when Aberdeen visited the Gytes earlier in the season when the victory to Peebles was a mere 3 points, so it will certainly be a challenge to take the points on the day and keep up the pressure on the league leaders.

The postponed match against Haddington has been scheduled for 1.00 PM next Saturday. Following the game the RBS 6 Nations will be on the big screen and as there is a homecoming/Scottish night for entertainment, make sure you wear something tartan.

The seconds are currently looking for some opposition for a game this weekend.

The Colts will also be on the road with a tough fixture away to Melrose Wasps.

Cancer Research are holding a coffee morning in the Eastgate Clubrooms tomorrow morning 10.00 to 12.00; please come along and give generously.

Entertainment in the club tomorrow night takes a new form as an 80s night is being planned, so should it go ahead, there could be a Beltaneisque feel to the event if members turn up in costume and make the Heartbeat.
