GYTES GOSSIP
(PN 13 February 2009)
Last weekend was one for
watching the home internationals as no rugby was played by Peebles. The Gytes
pitch was snow covered as can be seen in the photograph, whilst underneath the
snow, the ground was hard frozen and the plans made to clear snow on Saturday
morning were surplus to requirement. Whilst we still hope to host Kelso on
Friday night the forecast at the time of writing certainly puts that in doubt
and a decision will be made on pitch condition on Thursday night and the result
will be on the web site and Radio Borders as soon as it is known.
The seconds meanwhile have a
busy few days with a friendly against Watsonians at Violet Bank tomorrow at
12.30 PM and are away at Hawick in the Border Farm Supplies Championship on
Tuesday with a 7.30 PM KO.
Tomorrow definitely going ahead
at the Eastgate Clubrooms will be a coffee morning run by and on behalf of the
Victoria Park Centre when the coffee and catering will be of an exemplary
standard and well worth a visit.
The big screen will again be in action for the RBS 6 Nations where Scotland can only improve, so come along and enjoy the company, watch the games and see what Jim has planned for the weekend’s attractions.
