GYTES GOSSIP
(PN 17 October 2008)
Tomorrow at the Gytes will be
the third local derby in a row when 2nd placed JedForest provide the
opposition. Disappointed with the result last week against Gala, Peebles
Director of Rugby, Bob Hogarth is confident of a win at the Gytes tomorrow.
David Paton’s last minute injury at Netherdale is not thought as bad as feared
and he should be able to take his place.
will again be at the Gytes providing a range
of soup, stovies, bacon rolls, hot and cold drinks and of course risotto whilst
Gerard will be on duty with his 50-50 draw.
The second’s game at Hawick last
Friday was cancelled due to a waterlogged pitch, and tomorrow they also have
JedForest at Peebles High School. Despite the cancellation, several Peebles
players did get game time through the Peebles/Walkerburn Association and
Walkerburn recorded their first league win of the season, beating table toppers
Edinburgh Northern at Inverleith by 15 points to 5, even though it leaves them
on minus 4 because of non fulfilled fixtures. The colts play Langholm at
Walkerburn tomorrow having been beaten last week at Kelso.
There is a party night at the
club tomorrow; see noticeboard for details which are still being finalised.
