Early start for Peebles fans!
Peebles may have been targeting Saturday’s cancelled SHE Premier III
visit by Irvine as a potential 5-pointer, but tomorrow brings the Red-and-whites
a tougher test when they meet Ellon in deepest Aberdeenshire.
Twenty supporters’ seats are available on the team bus which leaves the
Eastgate at 7:30am (Email or phone secretary John Swanson to book a place.)

While Peebles have yet to win at Ellon, they’ll have been boosted by
their 59-10 drubbing of the Aberdeenshire lads in October.
The home tries that day came from Donald Anderson (2), Dale Clancy (2),
Craig Borthwick, Duncan Macdonald, Donald Sangster and Drew Moore.
The other try-scorer was Dan Boughtwood – his only touchdown so far in
Peebles’ colours. Mind you, a further 151 points have accrued from the
Kiwi’s boot!
Last weekend, with Gala’s trip to Dunfermline a victim of the freeze,
the only fixture relevant to Peebles’ promotion chances that survived was
Kirkcaldy’s 15-3 win at Ardrossan.
Despite the Fifers failing to get a bonus point, they’ve leapfrogged
Peebles in the latest SHE Premier III table. Temporarily we hope!
Meanwhile, following the cancellation of Peebles 2nds’ Border Farm
Supplies league joust in Selkirk on Friday, Allan Beveridge was hoping to fix up
a friendly or re-arranged league match this weekend.
Peebles Colts too saw Saturday’s Lochcarron league tussle with Jed
Thistle fall foul of the weather.
The Colts are scheduled to host John Lewis Youth League Cup semi-finalists Gala Wanderers tomorrow.
Peebles 3rds will
have their first outing of the season when they take on Biggar 3rds at the Gytes
on Friday night, KO 7.30 PM
