Irvine trip for Peebles
Hoping to keep their unbeaten record away from home intact, Peebles
travel to meet Irvine tomorrow.
The Ayrshire lads may be 9th in the latest Premier III table, but it
should be noted that they've scored 115 points in their last two games.
And since the venue isn't far from Troon on the Costa Clyde, we wonder if
such Ian Pemberton (Villeneuve Draw winner at Perth) and his golfing pals might
be planning an early round prior to the Irvine game.
Meanwhile, Allan Beveridge reports that Peebles 2nds lost Friday's league
tussle with Hawick by 25-3.
"But the score flatters
them since we gifted our opponents 4 tries," says he. Peebles 2nds are away to
Jed tomorrow.
And Jed - in the shape of Thistle - also provide the Colts' opposition
tomorrow. But Peebles is the venue. The development team is in action as well.
Says Coach Graeme Paterson of the Colts' latest win, "We beat Tynedale
31-0 but were a bit rusty after our lay-off. Two of our tries came from Richard
Scott."
In his rugby development capacity, Graeme is seeking volunteers to help
with High School teams on Saturday mornings and also with u-15s' and u-16s'
coaching.
Phone him if you can
help please on 0781-202-8172.
Lastly George Shaw reports that, while the club treasurer Gerard Bony
would have been saddened at France's World Cup exit on Saturday, there was
consolation: For he'd earlier won the Laureate (Match Sponsors) Sweep at the
Gytes when Neil Cruikshank scored the first try.
